Kale/Cavolo - Item 508

Kale prefers cooler climates and tolerates cold temperatures very well. It is high in protein, vitamins and minerals. The leaves can be boiled or chopped fresh for use in salads. Plant seeds 1 cm (0.5 in.) deep directly outdoors from mid-July to late August. Space rows 60 cm (24 in.) apart and thin seedlings to 30 cm (12 in.) apart when they are 8 cm (3 in.) tall. Matures 65 days after sowing.
